Guitar stuff...

Well, I've been thinking lately that I need to scale back on my guitar junk. I have actually been pondering this for some time. The main reason is that I seriously doubt I'll be playing again with any regularity. The reasons vary... mostly because I'm feeling my age and don't like staying up so late, or lugging all that heavy crap around. But also I just can't seem to find anything that I feel drawn to musically. So even though my current guitar rig is 'my baby', if I'm not going to use it I have no reason to keep it.

This is not an easy decision to make...

My buddy Eric Phillippe and former Stonescrye band mate, is putting together a 'touring' praise band of sorts to do gigs for a few months this summer. It would seem I have a standing invitation, why I can only guess, but I'm not sure I could...
1. get motivated out of my anguish to do it well
2. feel like playing as much as maybe he would like to.

I hate being so indecisive.

Hey, bro!

First time I've been able to check out the blog in a long while. Let me just say that I send out a big "DITTO" to everything April said! You know the invite always stands and who knows, maybe it would be a nice distraction. All you have to do is let me know. Anyway, had a crazy long weekend...was up in MI...had a chance to spend some time with Rick and Allison. They are all doing well and say hi! So, hope yo are doing ok...give me a call sometime.

Hmmm...I actually kind of like the idea! That is, if you think you can push yourself enough to do it. But, I think it would be a good distraction during the weekends for you so you weren't stuck in the house or always going places that reminded you of Lori. Some fresh air and different locales are nice ways of clearing the body, if not the mind. And of course, you wouldn't have to do it every weekend. That way you could spend time with your family, too!! ;D

I know you aren't sure about the whole band thing...whether you truly want to do it again or not. Perhaps you could just tell Eric that you don't necessarily want to commit to many gigs, maybe just a few to test the waters?? If that's possible to do. And as for the open invite, I think we all know why it's there. Even you yourself know and said that you are a good guitarist. That hasn't changed just because other things in your life have!
So, consider it. Pray about it. Don't jump to any fast conclusions if you don't want to.

I love you! (By the way...Isaac is now FINALLY saying 'mama'. But, he still doesn't associate that with me yet! And he's not only bobbing his head to music, but now he's dancing while standing, too! He's definitely got the music gene!!!) :D
